Since 1979, BITS Pilani Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) have enabled technology professionals to enhance their academic qualification while continuing their employment with their respective employer organizations.

B.Tech. Engineering Technology

Eligibility Criteria
Technical Diploma / B.Sc. or equivalent in relevant disciplines, with minimum two years work experience.

Programme Highlights

    ·         B.Tech Engineering Technology is a seven semester programme

    ·         Enables students to gain an overall perspective in contemporary technologies

    ·         Provides practical insights into the manufacturing management concepts though experiments using simulation software such as FlexSim.

    ·         Virtual lab exercises with LabView and MultiSim helps students gain practical knowledge on Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation systems.

    ·         Well-defined work integrated exercises to transform classroom learning into practice.

    ·         Guided project to assimilate both technical and execution knowledge.

    ·         Provides a strong platform for the aspiring students to pursue higher studies in manufacturing and management domains


B.Tech. Information Systems

Eligibility Criteria
Technical Diploma or equivalent in relevant disciplines, with minimum two years work experience.
B.Sc./BCA or equivalent in relevant disciplines, with minimum one years work experience.


Programme Highlights

    ·         B.Tech in Information Systems is a seven semester programme

    ·         The program offers a set of foundational course, core courses and elective courses. The program ends with a Project that gives opportunity to students to apply concepts and techniques learnt, in a project.

    ·         The methodology is a combination of class room learning and experiential learning. Experiential learning consists of lab exercises, case studies and work integrated activities.

    ·         Lab exercises consist of programming exercises, experiments using simulation tools, analysis and design of systems, etc. Some of the tools used in assignments are Code::Blocks, SQLite, Star UML, NS2, WireShark and Android Studio.

    ·         Case studies consist of analysing a given situation and finding solutions to issues, using techniques learnt.

    ·         Work integrated activities consist of looking at work performed at the workplace using concepts learnt, and potentially enhancing the quality of software at the workplace using techniques learnt. This enables students to relate concepts to their professional work.

M.Tech. Software Systems

Eligibility Criteria
Integrated First Degree of BITS or equivalent, such as B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. / M.Sc. / MCA / AMIE in relevant disciplines, with minimum one year relevant work experience

Programme Highlights

    ·         M.Tech. in Software System is a four semester programme

    ·         The program offers a set of core courses and elective courses, allowing students to specialize in one of the following areas: Embedded systems, Networked systems, Data analytics, Software engineering and Telecommunications. The program ends with a dissertation that enables students to advance in their professional area by applying concepts and techniques in a project

    ·         The methodology is a combination of class room learning and experiential learning. Experiential learning consists of lab exercises, assignments, case studies and work integrated activities

    ·         Lab exercises consist of programming exercises, experiments using simulation tools, analysis and design of systems, etc. Some of the tools used in assignments are Code::Blocks, SQLite, Star UML, NS2, WireShark and Keil

Integrated M.Tech. Software Systems

Eligibility Criteria
B.Sc. / B.C.A. or equivalent in relevant disciplines, with minimum one year relevant work experience.

Programme Highlights 

    ·         Integrated M.Tech. in Software Systems is a eight semester programme

    ·         Since this program is meant for B. Sc. graduates, it starts with a strong foundation in mathematics, microprocessors, management and programming. The first 2 years enable students to reach a level from where they can start taking courses of the 2-year M Tech program.

    ·         The program offers a set of core courses and elective courses, allowing students to specialize in one of the following areas: Embedded systems, Networked systems, Data analytics, Software engineering and Telecommunications. The program ends with a dissertation that enables students to advance in their professional area by applying concepts and techniques learnt, in a project.

Eligibility Criteria
Integrated First Degree of BITS or equivalent, such as B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. / M.Sc. / MCA / AMIE in relevant disciplines, with minimum one year relevant work experience

Programme Highlights 

·         M.Tech. Manufacturing Management is a four semester programme

·         Students get an operational and strategic perspective which enables them to effectively plan, design, organize, implement and maintain the manufacturing system.

·         Provides rich set of resources for research and experimentation. Simulation software such as FlexSim, Matrix, ‘R’, TORA and other  engineering software to gain practical experience in analytics,  analysis and design of products and manufacturing systems,

·         Lab exercises and assignments on relevant topics for experiential learning.

·         Well-defined work integrated exercises to transform classroom learning into practice.

·         Guided project at the workplace to assimilate and implement the learning from the coursework.

M.Tech. Quality Management

Eligibility Criteria
Integrated First Degree of BITS or equivalent, such as B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. / M.Sc. / MCA / AMIE in relevant disciplines, with minimum one year relevant work experience

Programme Highlights 

    ·         M.Tech. Quality Management is a four semester programme. The program places strong emphasis on practical, applied content using experiential and interactive learning methods. Case-discussions, exercises, simulation, and role-plays in addition to lectures and discussions with faculty provide a learning, all of which is immediately available for application in the workplace.
